Constitution and criminal policy post-pandemic.

Weimar (Germany), May 30 to June 3, 2022.

The works that were presented in this session of the Weimar Group critically discuss the authoritarian turn of the ius puniendi as a product of the relaxation of multiple limits of constitutional rank that were gestated with the control of COVID-19.

Social constitutionalism had a very strong influence in Latin America. In most of these countries, the liberal constitutions of the 19th century were discussed and reformed within the framework of these new “Social Constitutions”.

Facing the 21st century, the world faces new challenges: globalization, multiculturalism and religious differences, migrations and environmental problems. The question is: Is the legacy of the Weimar Constitution still valid in the face of these challenges? And if so, in what way?
